JOHN DIGLES
John Digles is an award-winning filmmaker and movie producer whose work has gained critical notice and worldwide film festival recognition including the Sundance Film Festival. He has also led successful efforts to gain legislative approval for visual media production incentives in the U.S.

Digles produced and co-starred in Design, an official selection of Sundance and ten other major film festivals. Design won the Jury Prizes at the Atlanta and Athens, Greece film festivals and Best Film at the Honolulu Film Festival. Design airs nationally on the Sundance Channel. Digles produced The 95th, a PBS documentary chronicling the stories of General George S. Patton’s elite WWII Army unit that liberated the stronghold of Metz, France.

Raised in a family of police officers, John wrote, directed, produced and starred in a variety show that raised thousands for a Chicago-based homeless shelter. Digles landed principal performance roles with several accomplished theatre companies, including the prestigious European Repertory Company and Bailiwick Theatre. He has appeared in numerous commercials, developed original theatrical productions and won a Chicago performance award.

As a senior manager at the MWW Group, one of the nation’s top ten public relations and marketing firms, Digles won several awards for his creative consumer education and public affairs campaigns. He wrote, directed and produced national public service announcements, video news release segments, Webisodes and promotional spots.

John served on the Transition Team for Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich and was elected to the board of the Illinois Production Alliance. He played a key role in gaining legislative approval for a historic incentive to boost film, TV and commercial production in Illinois . The new incentive produced a 200 percent increase in Illinois film production and attracted several major features, including Batman Begins and Oceans Twelve to the state.

Digles frequently appears as a guest speaker on film industry panels and forums. He is writing a new screenplay and preparing his next project, Angels, with his cousin and filmmaking partner, Davidson Cole, under their Traveller Jones Productions banner.
