THE 95th
Documentary, color, 60 min., 2001. By the end of 1944, the young soldiers of the heralded 95th Infantry Division had liberated the stronghold of Metz, France and claimed a key Allied victory. Fifty-five years later, a handful of the storied WWII unit’s surviving members returned to the battlefields to recount the horror and humor of war and impart lessons for generations to come.

The filmmakers spent nearly three years with the veterans of General George S. Patton’s historic Third Army unit. The veterans talk to the camera as if they are speaking to their grandchildren - passing on their strategies for survival, memories of war and lessons for life.

The 95th attracted veterans and their families for its world premiere at the 2002 Maryland Film Festival. Traveller Jones Productions signed a television licensing deal for the documentary with PBS (WTTW-TV Chicago).
